FOWEY ROYAL REGATTA 2020 16th -22nd August

The Fowey Regatta is a must visit for anyone in Cornwall during the third week of August – indeed visitors come from around the world to enjoy all there is to see and do.

There’s always a packed calendar of events – in 2020 from 16th -22nd August. Everyone loves the spectacle of Wednesday’s Carnival procession (sets off from Squires Field at 7.15pm) through town, featuring locals and visitors in a weird and wonderful array of costumes – with prizes for the best dressed. Throughout Carnival Day, the town’s traders also deck out their shops and cafes and dress up according to a theme. Expect some truly amazing outfits.

Daphne du Maurier Fowey Festival of Words and Music

May 8th-16th

The Festival is inspired by the famed author Daphne du Maurier, who spent a large part of her life in and around Fowey, where she took inspiration from her surroundings and created a rich literary legacy of titles set in the Cornish landscape.

The Festival continues to include a strand of du Maurier themed events from walks showcasing the inspiration behind the author’s stories to book readings and debates.

The Festival is embedded in the heart of the quintessential Cornish harbour side town of Fowey, with panoramic views over the river, busy with boats, ferries and water taxis, and beyond to the open sea.

 This year`s  Polperro Festival  

June 20th - 27th

Polperro Festival The week long free festival includes plenty of live music, an arts and crafts fair, a comedy night, the lighting of the solstice bonfire, the colourful village carnival and a unique mock mayor choosing ceremony with the winner being wheeled through the town, stopping at each inn before finally being dunked in the sea.

EVENTS IN THE PICTURESQUE VILLAGE OF POLRUAN RUN THROUGHOUT AUGUST, LEADING TO POLRUAN'S OWN REGATTA WEEKEND, NEXT ON AUGUST 29TH - 31st 2020. Set within an historic shipbuilding village that dates back to the fourteenth century.
